Experience Gran Canaria - we know where [General] [Beaches] [Mountains] [Forests & Meadows]

 General
Gran Canaria, with 1532 km2, the third largest island of the Canaries, is a real mini-continent with different climates and is erroneously considered as only a beach place with night life ambience. Of course we have it, but also the alternative! |

Beaches
Enjoy the beach life with almost desert-like coast, breathtaking rugged cliffs, the dunes of Maspalomas (formed by erosion of shells), the Canteras beach in Las Palmas and many small bays around the island. |

Mountains
Explore the fertile mountains e.g. the Bandama crater or hike to the highest point, Pico de las Nieves with 1949 m. Also, the Roque Nublo (see picture) is an interesting target. Best way to get there by car. After about 90 minutes you can embark directly from a small parking lot, a paved and marked trail to the summit. Equipped with sturdy shoes to reach a plateau with a wonderful panoramic view. |

Forests & Meadows
The most varied of the Canary Islands, full of contrasts, is covered with pine and eucalyptus forests, palm trees and bamboo groves, fruit and vegetable plantations of trees includes endemic, tropical, subtropical and European species. The biodiversity of wild flowers during wintertime is hardly to be found in the rest of Europe yet. |
